The Full Moon is thought to be a powerful time to release what no longer serves us.

This could include people, situations, old sabotaging beliefs, aspects of our work or business, old behaviours or anything else. I personally believe that the intention to release is the “magic ingredient” and that this can be applied at any point in the lunar cycle, you don’t need a full moon to do it.There is however something that feels magical about doing a release ritual on the full moon.
The full moon has an energy that is definitely different in some ways, and is associated with the word “lunatic” where in the past it has been observed that our behaviour can become erratic and there can be more social tension, people can behave out of character and there can be a surge in crime. If you are “lunar sensitive” you may feel more sensitive around the time of the full moon, so try to be conscious of how you are showing up, what you are making things mean and how you are communicating with yourself (self talk) and others. You may need to cave out a bit and up your self care if you feel overwhelmed or peopled out.If you like the idea of a Full Moon Release Ritual here are two ideas that you can consider:

1) Use the energy of water to cleanse and release.

Either a salt bath or even just some salt in warm water to wash your hands or feet, with the intention of letting go of what you do not need into the water and then tipping it down the sink or going outdoors and pouring it into the earth to recycle and transmute the energy.
I like to use a drop or two of Lavender Essential Oil too, it not only smells gorgeous but it also has the frequency of calm, no wonder it is used in so many bath products so we can settle our energy before bed.

2) Make a Burn List

Write down whatever you feel you want to release with the intention of surrendering it and letting it go, and then add to the bottom the catch all phrase “and anything else that does not serve me”

Hold it over your heart and ask that across all time space and dimension this is released for you, and call to St Germain the keeper of the Violet Flame to blaze through anything that needs to be transmuted before safely burning the list.

The Full Moon is also a good time to charge your crystals.
Even if the moonlight is not visible, the energy is still potent and you can still use it to great effect.
I like to keep my crystals in a glass vase on my windowsill, this way they are always in the sunlight or the moon light being charged.

The energy of the Full Moon is available to work with for up to 24 hours after the actual event.
It’s sometimes an insightful time to do a tarot or oracle card reading, a meditation or to journal after you have released.
See what you are drawn to and open up to receive guidance from The Universe, now you’ve made room!

As always take only what you need!
