I’m writing this at the beginning of 2021, just as the vaccine for Covid-19 is being rolled out.
I want to share my thoughts with you in a conscious way – but please know that this is my personal opinion.
Take what YOU need from this, weigh it up and see what resonates.
We all have a personal truth and this is mine.

1) I believe that Covid is real
My partner is super fit and very sporty, he climbs mountains for fun, runs, kayaks, loves cycling and has bags and bags of energy.
At least he did have, pre-covid.
He tested positive last October and it floored him for 2 weeks.
We expected a fast and full recovery but that didn’t happen, he is floored with fatigue and can’t smell and taste yet.
Putting this in to context, that means he can only work part time now, and goes to bed after we have eaten dinner.
The days he isn’t at work are rest days to shore his energy back up.
For someone that was so fit and well this is super frustrating, we are doing everything right to support a full recovery and believe that its coming his way soon – but this is absolutely the aftermath of Covid, it is real and this is what it’s done to him.
For this reason I choose to behave in ways that would prevent me from getting it and spreading it.
I don’t wear a mask because I am in fear, I do it because of what I have witnessed and because it makes me feel like I am protecting me and others.
I know that there are differing opinions about this and that’s ok, I’m doing what I feel is right for me (and you should too).

2) I have worked for Big Pharma
I was employed by a subsidiary company of Johnson & Johnson for 5 years and I sold a medication for chronic pain.
I spoke to GPs, pharmacists, consultants and nurses about how the drug worked, dosage and side effects.
So I have a good insight into how the machine of Big Pharma works, and I KNOW that its about money and influence.
There are health care professionals out there that will not see sales reps from pharmaceutical companies, and I understand this – they don’t want to be “bought.” The role is about sharing information but its also about influence, about persuasion and rapport and loyalty.
I worked for a great manager and I had great team members, but I would feel uncomfortable going back into this industry now because it doesn’t align with who I am. I would probably not be able to use the same level of persuasion that I once could, because now I come from a “take what you need” point of view. Big Pharma is about money, there is no doubt about that BUT there are also some life saving and life changing drugs that have been created that we are grateful for.

3) I take medication reluctantly but I am grateful
I only take meds when I absolutely need to, but when I need them and they are there I am super grateful.
Yes I do the complimentary stuff too – I’ll have some water if I have a headache, reach out for my bottle of lavender, make sure I have eaten and schedule a nap. But if it doesn’t go, I will have 2 x paracetamol tablets.
When I had an abscess I took antibiotics.
I know people that have had their life transformed by taking prozac, as a last resort and after trying lots of other things.
If I had a broken leg that needed surgery and a plaster cast, I’d have it!
I wouldn’t rely on affirmations and reiki to fix me.

Something to consider – medication is the result if research and development by humans, the chemical compounds that are discovered and ultimately turned into the end product are brought through a human consciousness. Does this mean that it’s brought through by our higher self? I don’t know the answer to that but I’m throwing it out there for you to consider.

4) I weigh up each choice
I am not strictly for or against vaccines.
I know people that have been very badly vaccine injured and I know people that have been fine.
I think generalising about ALL vaccines can make you filter information in a way that becomes very black and white.
For me, it feels better to take each choice and run it through a process of discernment.
By that I mean getting all of the information that you can, weighing it up and then seeing what feels right for YOU.
You know you better than anyone else and you know what is best for you and your situation, it has nothing to do with anyone else if you are vaccinated or not – that is your personal decision. I would ask however that you throw the net wide when you do your research, look at peer reviewed trials in medical journals as well as general information. Get the biggest possible picture that you can, and look at things from both sides of the fence.

This is the conscious way to approach any decision you are making in your life.
Be open, be curious.
Don’t close down just because someone has a different opinion to you, don’t go into ego and fear and judgement.
YOU get to choose what is right for you, and going through the process of weighing things up will ultimately mean that you have more peace with your decision.

I went through this process with the HPV vaccine and decided that my daughter would not receive it.
I read the data, I discussed it consciously with my sister and I decided that it wasn’t for us.
This does not mean that every single vaccine and medication is with held from me and my family.
It means that this specific one was, because of what I PERSONALLY felt after a really good process of weighing it up.
My sister went through the same process and she DID allow her daughter to have the vaccine.
And that is ok with me!
I did not try to change her mind, I was not hostile or mean, and I didn’t judge her or mock her.
I respected her decision because she had been through the process of getting really informed and then making a choice that felt right to her.

I believe this to be a conscious way of living and behaving.

5) I am still researching
I am still in the process of gathering data on this one, so far I have found that its an mRNA vaccine so it does not contain the live virus but actually contains instructions for the body to make anti bodies.
This happens in the cytoplasm of the cells and has nothing to do with our DNA at all, if this is a concern of yours please keep doing your research but make sure that you include something on how mRNA vaccines work.
This technology and delivery has been around for a long time, its not a new technology.
I had concerns about how fast vaccines were developed but there has been significant background research into this way of delivering vaccines behind the scenes, that gave me some relief.

I am not in a priority group so I have time to do more research, a part of which is observing how other people do that are receiving the vaccine.
In some ways the ultimate trial is happening before our eyes as elderly and vulnerable people are at the front of the queue!

I don’t have the time pressure that some people have because of health conditions, so I am still weighing things up.

6) Its ok to be on the fence
This is a new and challenging situation and its against the backdrop of lots of conflicting information and opinions.
We have been through a massive collective and personal trauma with lockdowns and losses, restrictions, mental health implications, loneliness and more.
Lets not make that worse by being unkind and judging others.
Be conscious – please.

7) Whatever YOU decide is ok for YOU
Give yourself permission to do what you need to do.
Once you have made the decision start to get your thinking in alignment with the fact that this is the best way forwards for you.
Your biology responds to the way you think and feel, if you put something into your body that you believe is harmful then you are going to create chemistry that mirrors this.
If you are going for it then start to visualise your immune system kicking in and making loads of anti bodies perfectly safely and you being absolutely fine and feeling good.  Likewise if you don’t have it, visualise your immune system being super strong and healthy regardless and helping you towards health and vitality.

8) Don’t Judge Others
If someone asks you for information as part of their weighing up process, share it consciously but then let them make their own decision.
We make decisions for ourselves all of the time and if someone told you not to eat meat, not to watch television, not to drink coffee, not to use your regular brand of shampoo, not to shop on amazon, not to wear a clothing brand, not to keep your cat indoors, not to home educate your child, or anything else – you would not be happy and you would not comply.
If you were conscious you might listen to their point of view and weigh it up, but you would always go back to what felt right to you and do that.
And that is always the right answer.

if you choose not to have the vaccine and you are really wanting to spread that message, then focus on showing up as healthy and happy and be a living example that this is a really good choice for YOU. This may inspire people to make the same choice in time, if it feels right for them.

We have been through so much, its so important to be compassionate and kind.
There are many of us struggling with mental health, loss, anger, confusion and fear.
Don’t add to that by being mean.

So all of that said – what am I going to do?

Like I said I am still in the weighing up phase.
I really don’t know which way I’m going to go yet – and that is ok.
It’s also ok if I make a decision and I get new information and change my mind.
I’m allowing myself that breathing space and giving myself permission for that.
I suggest that you consider doing the same.
